Green Compass and PAS 402 were developed in response to increasing demand for validated waste recovery data. This was particularly an issue in construction where discerning clients were demanding data from their builders upon which they can rely. We are delighted that our industry partners all of whom are household names in the construction sector, continue to be massively enthusiastic about PAS 402 and the Green Compass Scheme. Collectively as part of CIWM's Construction and Demolition Waste Forum, these partners meet regularly and, together, are determined that over time all of their project wastes will be managed by PAS 402 accredited firms.

ConstructionWastePortal.com will revolutionise the way in which waste services are procured by construction companies. Aligned with better cost forecasts and margin protection, the website allows construction companies to engage those waste companies who can provide better service provision on the back of healthy commercial rates. The dive to the bottom based on low price, poor service will be a thing of the past as both industry’s performance requirements become more robust.

The website allows the best waste company service and rates to be rewarded with a direct sales approach from construction buyers. The website will be of major benefit to each industry, and will also provide a sound basis for commercial success for both.

ConstructionWastePortal.com launched at the end of February, and is a subscriber based service. Green Compass members are currently being offered a 25% introductory discount on the £360 first year fee. This offer is valid until the end of June 2020, but may be extended depending on Covid-19 controls.
